Tidy-up Time
Before the school day is over we devote some time to clean up and put away educational materials and toys. We believe children need to know that their help is valued and that they are important members of the school community, not just in terms of rights but also in relation to responsibilities.
Our approach is to model in children a positive attitude towards these chores and promote empathy, showing them that their help is needed in order to look after the school and everything that's in it. We see tidy-up as another of our daily rituals, and strive to make it fun and to use it as a means to promote cohesion within our community.
