Arrival and Departure
Before Care
Parents can drop off their children between 8.00 and 8.45am for before care.
Morning Arrival
Relaxed Entry
We have a "relaxed entry", which means that our doors open for an extended period of time to allow families to come in at their own pace.
Doors are open between 8.45 and 9.25, and parents can come in and spend some time with their children if they want to. If you are unable to come during this first period, doors open again between 9.50 and 10.00 per request. If you need to bring your child to school later than that, please let us know beforehand.
Early Years: Our first meeting, or "ubuntu" (as the children like to call it), starts at 9.30. It is beneficial for all children to be there since it's the time when we greet each other and we share our ideas and suggestions for activities.
Primary: Primary participants are expected to be in school by 9am, in order to benefit from the mentoring session that takes place between 9.05 and 9.45am. This is a time to plan our day and set meaningful intentions.
The arrival experience is different for each child, depending on his or her experiences before coming to school, and what might be on his or her mind. This is the time when facilitators greet each child to make a connection.
If you need to talk with us about anything related to your child, you can do so between 8.45 and 9.00. Please be brief at this time. Facilitators may set another time to continue the conversation if needed. You can always send your key facilitator an email at facilitators@kaleide.org.
Departure
School activities finish at 14.00. Pick up for the Early Years children is from 13.50 to 14.10. Primary participants finish at 14.00. When you come in, you'll be able to speak with your child's key facilitator about how your child spent the day.
If you need your child to be picked up by somebody else, it is essential that you let us know on the Discord #help channel.
